What’s The Top 10 Web Hosting for India Websites?
Choosing the best hosting for your website is a tough and often all too confusing process in general. It’s even tougher considering that most well-known hosting companies are based in the USA. And really, there is no such thing as an absolute “best Indian hosting.” There is only the hosting that is right for you considering all the tradeoffs – speed, service, data center location, customer support location and what currency they accept (among others).

Based on my experience working with many hosting providers, there are a few that are a good fit for most people. Here’s a summary of the companies included in the chart.
Considerations for Choosing The Best Indian Hosting
Hosting companies all have different strengths and weaknesses. And since most hosting marketing is focused on the US market, you have to add in a few extra considerations to find the best hosting company if you live in India.
Here are some of the considerations that are factored into the chart.
Where does your core audience live? If you almost all your website visitors are in India, it will be hard to justify routing all your traffic to America – no matter how fast the company is. You’ll want a hosting company with servers located much closer to India. However, if you think only a significant portion of your audience will be from India with the remainder elsewhere in the world, then you may want to consider a hosting company located in Europe or even the West coast of the USA.
Speed & Performance
Just because a hosting company is located in India does not mean they will be a fast, high-performing hosting company for your website. In fact, many local companies use the fact that they are located in India to justify cutting server resources for lower prices. If you value high performance and expect lots of traffic – you’ll need a high performing hosting company.
Type of Company
Do you want an established brand that is part of a large company? Or do you want a smaller, independent company? There is no right answer. Usually large companies have more resources for discounts and more support channels. Independent companies usually have a more personal touch and are focused on investing over cost-cutting.
Do you want to pay in Rupees or US Dollars? Even globally-focused hosting companies only accept payment in dollars. And even though the exchange rate is fairly stable – paying in US Dollars could make your hosting bill 30% more expensive or 30% cheaper in a year’s time.
Do you want a customer service representative from India – or does it matter as long as they solve your problems? How important is this factor?
Discounts & Pricing
How important is getting a good deal? Sometimes it’s worth paying more if performance or customer support is a priority, but sometimes pricing beats them both.
Some customers value a clean, well-designed account area. Some customers do not really care what the buttons look like as long as all the features are there. And some customers don’t really care compared to other factors like price or performance.
